About Bella Roma

Bella Roma Restaurant has been established since 1975 and is the longest running Italian restaurant in the Wakefield area. Ourselves Colin & Joyce Chew have owned the restaurant since 1986 when the business was located on the other side of Northgate next door to the Wakefield Carpet Specialists where we only had 9 tables but then in 1993 we moved over the road to where we are now, and after 3 further extensions we are a large restaurant that can cater for most occasions, birthdays, weddings, christenings & anniversaries.

Our very loyal staff includes our son Chris as the manager who has trained at the 5 star De Vere Oulton Hall Hotel who returned to us in 2000. Our popular head waiter is Augustine Esteva (Gus) who also has been with us since 2000. The kitchen is under the control of Andy Agar who has been with us for 23 years first starting out as a junior chef and rising to head chef. In total the 4 senior chefs Andy Agar, Darren Marston, Andrea Mudd & Sean Lloyd have been with us for a total of 66 years. We also have Faye Capitano working in the kitchen as a trainee chef who until recently has been our full time waitress. We also employee 8 part time staff to work in various areas of the restaurant.

Also in our family business is Red Bar which is located in George & Crown Yard which is on a small cobbled street just off the top of Westgate, this is run by our other son Richard. Red is a relaxed modern bar that opens on a Friday & Saturday over 2 floors.
